Eyal Hertzog is an Israeli serial entrepreneur and technologist, renowned for his pioneering work in blockchain and decentralized finance (DeFi). A self-taught programmer since age seven, he co-founded early internet ventures like Contact Networks (one of the first social networks in 1998) and Metacafe in 2003 (a video-sharing platform that reached 50 million monthly users).After a two-year hiatus studying economics, monetary systems, and history, Hertzog entered the blockchain space in 2011. In 2016, he co-founded Bancor, the world's first DeFi project to launch, where he invented the concept of liquidity pools and was the first to deploy them. Bancor raised a record $150 million in its 2017 ICO and enables automated token liquidity, generating millions in user fees.He also serves as the CTO of RTB Digital, a web3 digital media SaaS company.A vocal advocate for cryptocurrency in Israel, he is celebrated for his visionary approach to emerging technologies.He lives in Tel Aviv with his wife, two sons, and daughter, enjoying piano and bass guitar in his free time.
